I have eaten in the city centre before and have not always been completely happy with the experiences, but our meal at Sam's Chop House was a dream and the staff were on point. We were meet offered drinks and left to chat soaking in the atmosphere. We were then transported to our table by the staff behind the bar all our drinks were put on a tray and taken to our table. The staff were very attentive and happy to help and a waitress took our order and in next to no time our food arrived. I don't often hear noises of joy from my family when they eat but I did this night the food was good and cooked to perfection. It's the first steak I've had which was cooked to my liking pan fried and juicy. We will all be booking here again soon the experience was a joy from start to finish. Thank you Sam's Chop House your service was on point and second to none.

Nice food and a lovely setting but there were only about three tables occupied which spoiled the atmosphere a little.

The service was very good. We arrived early and still sat straight away. Starter and dessert where better than the main course - the pork was a bit dry but my girlfriend said the lamb was very nice and soft. The onion soup was very nice and the dessert was lovely - but over-priced.

Very enjoyable. The steak and kidney pudding is huge and really tasty, I'd definitely recommend a visit but make sure you book - it's popular. Also you can get a picture with a life-size statue of LS Lowry that's sitting at the bar.
