La Grillade Restaurant in Leeds City Centre
La Grillade is a well-reputed French restaurant situated in the heart of Leeds city centre. Located two minutes’ walk from the train station on Wellington Street it is surrounded by a wealth of wining and dining establishments.
The success of La Grillade is in its age, as diners have been frequenting the basement dining area for over 30 years. In this time, the independently owned and managed restaurant has seen no compromise in the quality of its produce or service, hence attracting some of Leeds’ most discerning diners.
The interior of the restaurant is classically sophisticated with a muted palette of neutral creams, white table cloths, soft lighting and original, feature walls. There is an ambience of exclusivity radiating from this venue, making it the ideal location for an intimate evening or a special occasion.
On the menu of the critically-acclaimed La Grillade you can expect to see dishes such as the classic French onion soup, Soup a L’oignon and the highly recommended Châteaubriand Grillé, a prime, grilled fillet of beef designed to be shared by two people. Other notable dishes include the Chef’s speciality of Saint Jacques au Pernod, seared scallops in a creamy Pernod sauce with saffron infused rice.
As well as the beautiful A La Carte menu, set menus and bar menus are also available. As you would expect for a well-established French restaurant the wine list is comprehensive and offers a superb selection that you can match to your dishes if you wish.

My partner and I went for the chateaubriand and it was divine. Always a little bit of a risk ordering a dish for two but it worked out great. An expertly cooked piece of beef which was sooo tasty and succulent. Creme brulee for dessert was a brilliant way to finish as well. A fine establishment which will be around for years to come.
