Located on Call Lane in the heart of Leeds city centre and within five minutes’ walk of the rail station, Jake’s Bat and Grill is Leeds one stop shop for dining, drinking and entertainment. On the weekends it’s a loud, lively venue, packed to the rafters with party people enjoying the music and drinking. On weekdays, it provides a quite retreat to enjoy cocktails and a hearty taste of America.
Jake’s Bar and Grill used to be many things; the dance floor was a record shop, the toilets were once a part of Oporto’s Office next door and the bar used to be part of the car park but as of September 2004, it has been transformed into the lively drinking, dining and dancing establishment that it is today. The venue is a large and open plan, allowing the tables and sofas to be pushed out of the way at the weekend . The venue features exposed stone walls, quirky wall lighting and a soothing palette of creams and chocolates creating a multi-purpose backdrop for a hearty meal or a big night out.
The food philosophy at Jake’s is pile it high and dig in and in. It is not a fine dining restaurant but it is perfect if you want good food, and lots of it. The menu offers diners punchy American flavours and a whole lot of meat. The most recent addition to the menu are Jake’s ‘Burnt Ends’, slow-smoked chunks of beef brisket in a light barbecue sauce served with creamy slaw and ranch salad. As well as this you can expect to chow down on Popcorn Shrimp and Catfish with fiery green salsa and the combo featuring crispy wings, cheese filled jalapenos, bbq pork ribs, brisket burnt ends, cheesy nachos, ranch dressing, bbq sauce and creamy slaw.
Jake’s is a flexible venue and is the perfect backdrop for a hearty meal with friends before a big night out.
