The James Watt room is a delightful space boasting original beams, fire place and exposed brick work but with modern fittings making it perfect for private hire corporate events, business meetings, wedding receptions and birthday parties. The room acquired its name following a cheeky 3 month hire of one of the rooms in the Cross Keys back in 1802, when, the story goes, James Watt attempted to steal trade secrets from Mathew Murray by getting Murray’s workforce drunk!
