Chaophraya Thai restaurant is located just south of Leeds city centre. Its location is ideal as it is surrounded by parking and is just a few minutes’ walk from the main line station. Chaophraya focuses on Thai fine dining but the the Chaophraya group of restaurants has been growing across the North since 2004 and has expanded into a family of brands including ChaoBaby, a banquet concept; YeeRah, a casual fusion of Thai and European dishes; and Palm Sugar, a high end cocktail bar.

Named after the main waterway that runs through the central region of Thailand, Chaophraya offers its diners a real taste of Thailand in the centre of Leeds. When you enter the restaurant you are greeted by a representation of Buddha who blesses you as you continue into the 120 cover dining room that is exquisitely decorated with specially imported Thai relics. The focal point of the restaurant is a large waterfall, giving the restaurant a sophisticated and unique feel. However, this is outshone by the open kitchen, a feature that allows you to observe the chefs as they prepare your meal.

The menu is extensive and enticing with classics such as the Thai Green Chicken Curry and Sweet and Sour Chicken as well as the tempting Four Seasons Duck Curry with red curry sauce, cherry tomatoes, grapes and sweet basil and Grilled Rack of Lamb. There is a good vegetarian menu on offer as well as set menus for a reasonable price. The drinks list isn’t huge but has a good selection of wines as well as spirits, continental beers, spirits and soft drinks; everything you need for a fantastic night out.
