Opening its doors to drinkers and diners in May 2008, Blackhouse, a trendy bar and grill, in Leeds has rapidly become a firm favourite with residents and visitors alike. Specialising in seafood, steaks and cocktails, Blackhouse has built itself a reputation for fresh food, quality cuts of meat and a vast drinks selection. They even have their own fish tank in the restaurant , bringing a little taste of American dining to the venue!
Diners can choose from a range of starters such as the DIY Garlic Rub Bread where you rub the chargrilled bread with garlic to your taste and drizzle with olive oil to the filling Blackhouse Platter; a selection of fishcakes, chilli and ginger chicken skewers, calamari and duck spring rolls. As a steak house, Blackhouse offer a ‘steak of the month’ and a wide variety of specialities that change on a regular basis.
Blackhouse pride themselves on sourcing sustainable seafood and do not purchase from deep sea trawlers as well as being totally against the selling of endangered stocks. Their steaks are treated in the same loving manner; the cattle are fed on a natural grass diet and are raised by farms who use traditional husbandry methods, allowing the animals to live a stress-free life.
