Anthony's Restaurant in Leeds City Centre
Widely regarded as the best restaurant in Leeds, if not Yorkshire, Anthony’s is a special restaurant at the pinnacle of dining excellence. Situated in the city centre on Trevelyan Square, with a bar area on the ground floor, the restaurant on the lower ground level is a cosy and intimate affair. Complete with high leather backed seating, well-spaced tables, pressed white linen table clothes and a chic décor of indented wall mounts, Anthony’s looks every inch the stylish gourmet venue, but it is the food that has earned this restaurant its renowned reputation.
In its first year Anthony’s restaurant won best restaurant award at the 2005 Observer Food monthly awards, with top chefs Gordon Ramsay and Rick Stein the judges, who described the menu as being “...executed with immense skill, flair and professionalism by a young and talented chef, Tony Flinn.”. Since then Anthony’s has won critical acclaim from Remy Martin, The Good Food guide, Independent and Sunday Telegraph to name a few.
The lunch and dinner menus are beautifully conceived: when available in the evening start with the fabulous Risotto of White Onion, Espresso and Parmesan air and then decide among the many mouth-watering mains on offer: Saddle of Lamb, Sweetbreads and Smoked Sprat sits next to Sous Vide Mackerel, Liquorice, Tartare and Onion Wonton.
Anthony’s is a truly great restaurant but it is not just for food critics or dedicated gastronomes, as the set menus make this restaurant very accessible to all.
